We happy to announce that a maintenance release is now available.
That's new:
- solving problems by pattern;
- convinient choice of variables and units;
- convinient unit conversion;
- automatic updates.
This update is free for all registered users of Natural Calculator.
The trial version of Natural Calculator 1.7 is available at http://www.nmathematics.com/natural_calculator/download.
Natural Calculator uses four numeral systems. In engineering it is often necessary to convert numbers from one numeral system to another. Here we'll show how you can do that.
First recall how to enter the numbers in various systems. You must enter the number, then select the symbol
from the first button on the toolbar or type "#" symbol.
Here are the examples of the numbers of various numeral systems:

Now, let's convert these numbers to another numeral systems. To do this, place the cursor on desired expression and press "=" to represent the number in the decimal system. Then you right-click on the desired result, and select the appropriate numeral system. For example, the binary numbers converted to hexadecimal:
As a result:
![]()
Восьмеричное - в двоичное.
The octal number converted to binary one.

Decimal number converted to hexadecimal one.

And for clarity, let's add a few more results. To do this, right-click on the result and select "Add result" three times.

Each of these results we will convert to various systems.

As we see, the numeral systems converting process with Natural Calculator is easy and simple.
Converting units from USA to Metric and vice versa is a frequent task. Here we'll show how you can do this using Natural Calculator. The available at this time units can be found in Help - USA system and Metric system.
To start, we'll be converting units of mass. Write: "lb" and press "#" to enter a substring symbol. Write "usa" in the empty place of this symbol. So, we've identified that in this case we mean the USA unit of pound.

Press "=".

The result was the same system of units. Right-click at the result and select "Units...". The Units dialog will show.

At this time USA is the selected unit system. At the left list select "metre", at the right - "Auto" and click OK.

We got the value of pounds in kilograms. Now change the expression:

The new expression was recalculated and we got the result in Metric system again.
The inverse conversion kilograms to pounds:
![]()
Now we'll be converting volume units. This is done just as well.
For example, convert gallon in litres:

We'll get:

We add 20 ounces of liquid and 2 gallons and present the results in cubic decimeters:

You can also convert the distance units. For example:

The last expression can be represented in a particular unit, for example, in centimeters. To do this, in the Units dialog, select "cm":

As a result:

Если теперь изменить выражение, то результат будет вычисляться только в сантиметрах:
If we change the expression, the result will be calculated in centimeters only.

The inverse examples:

USA units of time have the same form as in the Metric system.
We announce the new version of Natural Calculator. This version is free for all registered users. Just send us a request and you will get the key.
What's new:
- The mathematical part is fully remade. Now it is much more quick.
- There are some new built-in functions.
- The interface was redesigned a little and became more quick.
- The documentation was remade. Now it describes the program's features and functions in more detail and contains more illustrations, so you can quickly learn to work with the program.
- Some bugs was fixed.
We moved our site from ncalculator.com to nmathematics.com. The design is completely new. The site is fully updated with the content. There are new screenshots and descriptions of the program. Now online help is presented on the site.
We happy to announce the first public release of Natural Calculator.
The following are of the key features:
- visual "paper" view;
- results may have any number of digits and precision;
- there are four number types: exponential, rational, integer, complex;
- user variables and functions are useful;
- there are built-in and user units of measurement;
- there are two window types: standard and small;
- the program uses include documents to use their variables, units, and functions.
